Dallas witnessed a tense and dramatic scene unfold at The Factory, Deep Ellum, during the Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul news conference. The atmosphere turned violent as emotions escalated during the heated stare down between Diaz and Paul.
To prevent any physical confrontation, Paul's advisor Nakisa Bidarian and former Bellator matchmaker Rich Chou intervened, keeping the fighters at a safe distance. Both Diaz and Paul were accompanied by large groups of supporters. At one moment, Diaz momentarily diverted his attention from Paul to engage in a heated exchange with Bidarian.
As the event concluded, tensions escalated further when the two sides vied for stage positions while exiting. A member from Paul's entourage, who appeared to be a security guard, instigated the situation by shoving individuals from Diaz's crew multiple times. This led to punches being thrown by individuals from both camps. Eventually, the situation de-escalated, and the crews dispersed from the stage.
“It don’t matter. Whatever happens, happens,” Diaz said on the DAZN broadcast of the event when asked about the altercation. “It usually can go better or worse. It’s all good.”
The security guard at the center of the altercation appeared to be the same man who was involved in a previous altercation with Diaz backstage at the Paul vs. Anderson Silva event in October.
Paul vs. Diaz takes place Saturday at American Airlines Center and streams on DAZN/ESPN+ pay-per-view.
