Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Ramps Up the Intensity: Officially Extended to a 10-Round Battle on August 5th

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz are set to face each other in an eagerly anticipated 10-round boxing match at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on August 5th.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the governing body overseeing the event, has officially confirmed the approval of the fight for 10 rounds, as initially announced by Paul in a tweet.

There had been some back-and-forth between the fighters over the number of rounds after the bout was initially scheduled for 8 rounds at 185 pounds.

Paul later stated that Diaz and his camp asked for the fight to move from 8 to 10 rounds, which he gladly accepted. Soon after that message dropped, Diaz posted on Twitter stating “I’m cool with 8 [rounds].”

The overseeing commission has reviewed and accepted the request, resulting in the official scheduling of the Paul vs. Diaz bout for a 10-round match.

“10 rounds, if the fight goes to the later rounds, it’s obviously a big advantage for Nate,” Paul wrote on Twitter. “I know that, he knows that (that’s why he made the request), the oddsmakers know that. But I don’t give a f***. I’m all in.”

Paul is set to face his first 10-round professional boxing match, a departure from his usual eight-round bouts. Despite going the distance three times in his previous fights, with victories against Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, he suffered a loss to Tommy Fury in his most recent outing in February.

On the other hand, Diaz is entering the realm of professional boxing following a long and illustrious career primarily in the UFC. After triumphing over Tony Ferguson in his last fight, Diaz decided to explore new horizons by venturing into free agency instead of re-signing with the UFC.

This decision ultimately led him to establish his own promotion called Real Fight Inc., which paved the way for a boxing match against Paul. In a unique collaboration, Diaz's Real Fight Inc. and Paul's Most Valuable Promotions will serve as co-promoters for the event.

Fans can catch the highly anticipated Paul vs. Diaz bout live on DAZN pay-per-view on August 5, with the remaining undercard matchups yet to be announced.
