Jon Jones has taken aim at Francis Ngannou following the latter's announcement of a groundbreaking contract with the PFL.
The deal not only permits Ngannou to participate in the PFL, but also paves the way for him to enter the boxing ring in 2024. However, Jones appears unimpressed by Ngannou's assertions regarding his competitive position in the world of MMA.
Ngannou said on his YouTube channel he is “the baddest motherf***** on the planet.” Jones, who now holds the UFC heavyweight belt that was vacated after Ngannou parted ways with the company in 2022, reacted on social media.
“Calling yourself the baddest man on the planet from across the street, who does that?” Jones wrote on Twitter.

Ngannou, with an impressive MMA record of 17-3, exited the UFC on a remarkable winning streak of six fights, triumphing over some of the promotion's most formidable opponents. Within a span of 28 months, he secured victories through a decision over Ciryl Gane and knockout wins against Stipe Miocic, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, and Curtis Blaydes.
On the other hand, Jones recently made his highly anticipated heavyweight debut, returning to the octagon and swiftly submitting Gane in less than five minutes to claim the UFC championship.
During a special edition of The MMA Hour, Ngannou revealed his plans, sharing that he anticipates stepping into the boxing ring in the coming months, reserving his PFL debut for the year 2024.
