Former UFC star Jorge Masvidal’s father, Jorge Masvidal Sr., was arrested on attempted murder charges on Thursday after allegedly shooting a man in the arms during an argument at his son's Miami-area home.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ Sports, Masvidal Sr. was at the Florida home with a man named Luis Leoncini when the two got into a verbal argument. Leoncini told police that Masvidal Sr. shot him after the argument, causing gunshot wounds to both his arms. Leoncini was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Jorge Masvidal Jr. was not present during the incident and did not have any involvement, according to police reports.
The arrest affidavit also notes that officers found a .38 caliber revolver inside a kitchen cabinet during a search of the home. Masvidal Sr. was taken into custody later that day and charged with attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon with a firearm.
Jail records indicate that Masvidal Sr. is still behind bars as of Friday morning. Masvidal Jr., who recently retired with a 35-17 MMA record, has not yet commented publicly on the matter.
