The legal issues surrounding Nate Diaz may put his upcoming boxing match with Jake Paul in doubt.
Diaz, who has a record of 0-0 in professional boxing, is set to face Paul (6-1) in an eight-round match on August 5th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The fight is being promoted by DAZN and will be available on live pay-per-view.
In response to the situation, KSI, who is scheduled to box Joe Fournier on May 13th, has offered to serve as a backup fighter in case Diaz is unable to compete. Jake Paul has publicly expressed appreciation for KSI's gesture on social media.
“Great. I accept you as the backup opponent,” Paul tweeted to KSI. “Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks, buddy for being so humble and committed.”
Diaz saw this and fired back at both men, suggesting they fight each other while he looks to fight someone else.

If found guilty, Diaz could face up to eight years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine, which is the penalty in Louisiana for second-degree battery.
