Eric Esch, famously known as Butterbean, is poised to defy his retirement and step back into the ring to face off against Jake Paul.
Despite his age of 56, the former boxer is determined to relive his glory days. His most recent bout dates back to 2013, where he endured a second-round TKO defeat at the hands of Kirk Lawton.
Since then, Butterbean had bid farewell to the sport, leaving behind an impressive record of 77 wins, 10 losses, and 4 draws. However, the lure of competition has reignited his passion, leading him to publicly challenge Jake Paul for a showdown.
“I’m going to fight one last fight. It’s gonna be one year from now. Jake Paul, if you’re ready, I’m here for you, my friend. Let’s get it on, me and you, Jake Paul,”

Paul has yet to respond to this, but the caliber of his opponents suggests that it is not out of the realm of possibility.
This is not just a publicity stunt. Butterbean put Paul on notice last year by claiming that he would only come out of retirement to face Paul or Mike Tyson.
“I’m not a typical boxer, I go out there to fight, I want to knock somebody out, Jake Paul or Mike Tyson.
“Jake Paul runs his mouth too much, he’s never fought nobody, I would love to fight him. He knows about it, I know 100 percent, he knows about me challenging him,”
Paul is set to fight MMA star Nate Diaz in August while also having fought Anderson Silva, showing that the ‘Problem Child’ is keen on putting on the biggest events.
