Usyk to Defend Titles Against Dubois on August 26, Confirms Alex Krassyuk

Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend his IBF, WBA, and WBO titles against Daniel Dubois on August 26th, 2023, in an eagerly anticipated bout taking place at the Stadion Wroclaw, Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland.

This fight holds significant importance on multiple levels. Despite the devastating consequences of the ongoing Russian conflict in his home country of Ukraine, Usyk will enjoy a home advantage by competing in Poland.

Securing victory in this match is crucial for Usyk as it keeps his aspirations of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion alive. Although negotiations for an undisputed bout with Tyson Fury fell through, with Usyk even agreeing to a 70-30 split, a win in this fight would rekindle hopes of a mega-fight between Usyk and Fury in Saudi Arabia, particularly since Usyk has recently signed with Skill Challenge Promotions.

On the other side of the ring, Dubois returns following his triumphant victory over Kevin Lerena, where he demonstrated resilience despite hitting the canvas three times before ultimately securing a stoppage win. It's worth noting that Dubois had suffered a knee injury during that fight, but he has since recovered and is ready to face the ultimate test in Usyk.

Alex Krassyuk, Usyk's promoter, eagerly anticipates this match-up, highlighting the excitement surrounding the clash between these two talented fighters.

“He’s Young, he has a dynamite in his gloves, he’s hungry, he’s looking for fame for Glory, and he’s looking for recognition.

“This guy is dangerous, that’s why. We can’t say that his boxing skills are higher than Usyk, but we cannot afford to disregard his positive side. He’s really strong, he’s really motivated, and he’s a heavyweight. He’s a real heavyweight with a strong punch.

“There is no difference for him who he is fighting. Whether he’s fighting Daniel Dubois or his fighting Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury, his preparation for his training camp remains the same.

“No one is dangerous for him. That is his mindset. That is how he is created, and that is his real attitude to training,”
