Conor McGregor is no stranger to intense faceoffs with opponents, and his stare-down with Michael Chandler during filming for The Ultimate Fighter 31 was no exception.
In the first footage from the upcoming season, which will debut on ESPN on May 30, McGregor can be seen shoving Chandler during an intense moment between the coaches as they come nose-to-nose in the cage.

McGregor previously coached the show in 2015, opposite Urijah Faber, but this time around, he'll be squaring off with an opponent in Chandler, which adds a different energy to the show. McGregor will also be making his return to action after suffering a devastating broken leg in his last outing against Dustin Poirier in 2021. The two coaches will lead teams of bantamweights and lightweights, with a mix of veterans and up-and-coming prospects supplying the roster for the teams.
The season will run through August 15, with McGregor and Chandler expected to face each other in the octagon. However, no date has been attached to the fight yet. McGregor still has to undergo six months of drug testing under the UFC's anti-doping policy before he's allowed to fight. As of the latest update on May 5, the former two-division UFC champion hasn't been tested yet in 2023.
