Anthony Joshua Interrupts Susanna Reid Mid-Interview to Shadowbox in Response to Tyson Fury Question

During an interview on Good Morning Britain, Anthony Joshua left Susanna Reid lost for words when he unexpectedly began shadowboxing.

The former two-time unified heavyweight champion was a guest on the morning show, promoting his upcoming must-win bout against Jermaine Franklin at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night.

AJ got excited when questioned about potentially fighting Fury.

The GMB presenter was stunned into silence when Joshua started shadowboxing.

Anthony Joshua, who is set to return to the ring for the first time since his consecutive losses against Oleksandr Usyk, has expressed his interest in a potential fight against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury later this year.

This comes as ‘The Gypsy King’ is searching for a new opponent after negotiations for a four-belt undisputed fight with Usyk at Wembley Stadium on April 29 broke down last week. During his appearance on GMB, co-host Martin Lewis inquired whether a victory against Franklin this weekend could pave the way for the highly anticipated matchup between Joshua and Fury.

“That would be an honour, honestly,” he said.

“The WBC heavyweight champion of the world, to be able to compete for the title again in the summer.”

“I would love that opportunity. If you’re asking me, yes, I would take the opportunity for sure.”

Reid then got halfway through her thoughts on the fight, before Joshua left her gobsmacked and Lewis a bit concerned for his safety when he began shadowboxing.

“I hope they’re not aimed at me,” Lewis quipped before Joshua giggled and the awkward moment came to an end.

Joshua and Fury have previously tried to make a fight on several occasions.

They actually signed to face each other in 2021 before an arbitrator ordered Fury to fight Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout and the British blockbuster collapsed.

Towards the end of last year, Tyson Fury surprisingly expressed his willingness to fight Anthony Joshua, despite coming off two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

Though terms were quickly agreed upon, the fight fell through during the contract stage, as Fury repeatedly set deadlines for Joshua to sign the deal. Since then, Fury has claimed that he is no longer interested in fighting Joshua, instead hinting at a potential matchup with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. However, Fury has also been linked to fights with Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois since failing to secure a match with Usyk.

Nonetheless, many boxing fans believe that Fury would be open to resuming talks for what is arguably the biggest fight in boxing today and certainly the most anticipated British bout of all time. It wouldn't come as a surprise if Fury calls out Joshua again during his upcoming fight this weekend.
