Gervonta Davis has been recently discharged from prison upon completing his sentence.
As confirmed by the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Davis was released on July 14th, 2023, after serving a total of 44 days behind bars.
Davis' imprisonment stemmed from his violation of the conditions of his house arrest. Following a charge related to a hit-and-run incident, he was ordered to remain under house arrest at the residence of his trainer, Calvin Ford.

After pleading guilty to four counts related to a November 2020 crash that injured four individuals, including a pregnant woman, Gervonta Davis was sentenced to 90 days of home detention at the residence of his trainer, Calvin Ford.
However, Davis violated the terms of his house arrest by relocating first to a luxury hotel and then to a different home, without obtaining permission from the Maryland state's attorney's office.
Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Althea Handy, who oversaw Davis' case, had not authorized either move. Consequently, Judge Handy ordered Davis to serve the remaining duration of his sentence in the city's jail.
During the sentencing, Davis' then-attorney, Michael Tomko, argued that the address provided by his client for the home detention was inadequate to accommodate Davis and his security team, as explained by a spokesperson from the state's attorney's office in June.
In addition to the 90-day home detention, Davis was also sentenced to three years of probation and 200 hours of community service in May. This ruling was issued shortly after Davis achieved a seventh-round TKO victory over Ryan Garcia, marking a significant milestone in his career.
