Jorge Masvidal has expressed his discontent towards the allegations of greasing made against him in the aftermath of UFC 287.
The seasoned UFC fighter and BMF (Baddest Motherf*****) champion was accused by his welterweight co-main event opponent, Gilbert Burns, of greasing during their bout held on Saturday night in Miami.
Masvidal, who lost the fight by decision to Burns and immediately announced his retirement from the sport, firmly denies these accusations of foul play.
โThereโs a commission, there are numerous people backstage besides USADA,โ Masvidal toldย Ariel Helwaniย on โThe MMA Hourโ on Monday. โIโve never greased. Iโve never been caught for cheating or anything. Maybe Iโm the sweatiest guy he knows, but Iโve never greased. Iโve never put anything on in my life. Iโve never done that in my life.
โMaybe he should blame his technique for being sh*tty and not being able to do anything but just hold. Iโve never cheated. The referee was there touching us constantly and breaking us up, and youโre telling me he couldnโt see that I had grease? He knows the difference between that and sweating.โ
Masvidal, a prominent figure in MMA, ended his 52-fight career on Saturday night in a welterweight co-main event against Gilbert Burns.
Despite losing the bout, Masvidal retired from the sport with his legacy intact. However, the fighter is now upset with Burns' accusation of greasing, which he believes has tarnished his retirement fight.

โIโve never cheated, and Iโm not about to cheat,โ Masvidal said. โIโve never even had a point taken away from me in my 50-something pro fights. So for this guy to try to slander my name in my last fight, whatever, bro.
โIt annoys me. Iโve never put grease or Vaseline. I just go out there and compete. Iโve never done steroids. Iโve never missed weight. I feel like I donโt have to cheat to beat any of these motherf*ckers. So itโs just whatever. Let him throw anything.โ
