As excitement builds among superhero fans, the filming of Captain America 4 has grabbed attention in Atlanta, Georgia. Recently released set photos offer a glimpse of Anthony Mackie's new suit as he takes on the role of Captain America for the first time.
While the outfit is yet to be fully unveiled, the photos provide some intriguing details about the upcoming installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The new Captain America suit, as seen in the set photos, showcases a slightly darker color tone compared to its predecessor. The familiar star on the chest remains intact, but the stripes appear to have undergone modifications. Mackie's character still retains the Falcon goggles, suggesting a merging of features from his previous alter ego into the new suit.
The revealed suit significantly deviates from the predominantly white outfit seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Additionally, Wyatt Russell's character, the other Captain America introduced in the series, is not expected to appear in the upcoming film. However, the conflict between the two Captain Americas may find resolution in the Thunderbolts series, slated for 2024.
Despite the expected blurriness of the image, Anthony Mackie's new Captain America costume appears to be well-suited for stealth missions. While the reason behind the character receiving a brand-new suit in the movie remains unknown, it has become a customary practice for MCU heroes to earn upgraded attire during their big-screen ventures.
A prime example of this can be seen in Captain America: Winter Soldier, where Steve Rogers showcased two distinct suits. Similarly, it is plausible that Sam Wilson may follow suit in the same fashion.
Check out the new look below:
In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it was the Wakandans who bestowed upon Wilson his striking Captain America suit, complete with vibranium-infused wings. Although it is possible that his original suit will still be present in the movie, this new ensemble, adorned in blue and gold, might serve a specific purpose or mission.
There have been rumors suggesting that the Serpent Society, a well-known Captain America antagonist from the comics, will make their debut in the film. This speculation further raises the possibility that Sam Wilson's new costume could have been provided by the Wakandans or other allies, potentially incorporating venom resistance or additional protection for the Star-Spangled Avenger.
Captain America: New World Order is set to premiere in theaters on May 3, 2024.
