Ryan Garcia Sparks Controversy with "Identifies as a Woman" Remark Following Devin Haney Altercation

Ryan Garcia stirred controversy once again, raising eyebrows with a provocative statement after an altercation with rival Devin Haney atop New York's Empire State Building.

In a promo for their upcoming fight, Garcia taunted Haney with repeated jabs about his mother before the confrontation turned physical, with Haney shoving Garcia.

Following the incident, Garcia took to social media to accuse Haney of committing a "hate crime" and made a startling declaration:

"I identify as a woman."

The remark, coming from Garcia amidst a series of recent bizarre and concerning messages on social media, left many puzzled. Garcia claimed that the physical altercation constituted an attack on a member of the LGBTQ+ community, suggesting that Haney had assaulted him as a woman.

Despite Garcia's threat of legal action against Haney, it's unlikely that any lawsuit will materialize. The incident has added fuel to the fire ahead of their scheduled bout on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The highly anticipated fight, scheduled for 12 rounds, will be broadcast live on DAZN worldwide.
