Tank on Prime Time: Davis vs. Martin Rumored as First Amazon Boxing PPV

There's a rumor that superstar Gervonta 'Tank' Davis might be having a fight on Amazon Prime Video PPV on March 30th, and the talk is about him facing the undefeated lightweight contender Frank 'The Ghost' Martin.

The potential matchup between Davis and Martin has been buzzing on social media, and if it comes to fruition, it's expected to generate a lot of interest among boxing fans. Martin added to the excitement on Instagram last week, suggesting, "I'm taking it to the ceiling on the next one!!!" Fans interpreted this post as a hint from the #3 WBA contender that he could be up against Tank Davis for his WBA 'regular' title.

For his March 30th fight, Tank Davis needs to face a significant opponent, as using familiar names like Pitbull or Ryan won't likely convince fans to buy the PPV.

Amazon made a significant move by signing a multi-year deal with PBC to broadcast boxing events, replacing Showtime. This puts pressure on PBC to organize compelling fight cards to capture interest and ensure Amazon stays with them when the contract expires.

It's a clever move by PBC to feature Tank Davis in the inaugural event of their new deal with Amazon, but it will be even more effective if they secure a notable opponent like Martin for him.

Choosing Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) as Gervonta's opponent on March 30th makes more sense than having a rematch with Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz, which might not do well on Amazon Prime Video PPV.

Regarding Gervonta Davis asking for two Ferraris from the Saudis for a fight, Gareth A. Davies from Boxing Social mentioned, "The two Ferraris is a throwaway line about 'If I come there, do I get a big payday?' Of course, you'd get a big payday."

He highlighted Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and Shakur Stevenson as young boxing stars in America, all claiming to be the 'Face of Boxing.' Davies wouldn't be surprised to see big fights involving Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson.
