Conor McGregor and his legal team are on a mission to claim what they believe is rightfully theirs.
Recent reports indicate that Paradigm Sports, McGregor's agency, has successfully won a legal battle against Manny Pacquiao for breaching their contract during their failed bout negotiations.
The court ordered Pacquiao to pay Paradigm $5.1 million and $2 million in attorney fees. McGregor acknowledged the verdict in a now-deleted tweet, which also included a warning to his former friend and rival, Artem Lobov, who is currently embroiled in legal proceedings with McGregor.
“Manny owes 8 all in,” McGregor wrote. “5.1 he owes and then 2.9 in legal fees. Legal fees are heavy but that’s what we do. Heavy weight operations.
“Rartem you already owe me two rounds of court fees, awarded by the judge. There will be a judgment put on your home as this progresses because I know…”
Recently, McGregor's legal team also achieved victory over his former friend, Artem Lobov. A judge denied Lobov's injunction request, which aimed to prevent McGregor from hurling insults at him on social media. Lobov had sued McGregor over alleged unpaid profits from the Proper No. 12 whiskey brand, claiming that he played a crucial role in its establishment. The brand's controlling interests were sold to Proximo Spirits for $600 million in 2021.
Once close, McGregor and Lobov's relationship turned sour following the lawsuit. McGregor publicly insulted Lobov, calling him a "rat" and an "uncooked sausage of a thing." This led Lobov to seek an injunction.
Regarding the Pacquiao case, the court ordered him to pay $5.1 million to Paradigm Sports, which consists of $3.3 million repayment for an advance paid to Pacquiao before his anticipated bout with Mikey Garcia in February 2020, which ultimately didn't happen. An additional $1.8 million in damages was also awarded to Paradigm after they accused Pacquiao's associates of interfering with the Pacquiao-Garcia negotiations, resulting in Pacquiao signing with Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions and Garcia leaving Paradigm.
Replying to comments on Twitter, McGregor acknowledged Pacquiao’s greatness, but said that the legendary fighter is still going to pay up.
