Leandro Lo 7 time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champ shot and killed in brawl at age 33

A legendary BJJ fighter in Leandro lo was shot and killed during a brawl after having someone pinned to the floor, who then proceeded to pull a firearm on Leandro.

Leandro was pronounced brain dead after being shot in the head. This all happened at a concert in São Paulo, Lo’s Lawyer said. Lo was taken to Dr. Arthur Ribeiro de Saboya hospital but was later declared brain dead from his wound.

The killing took place allegedly when Lo was confronting a Police Officer Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo. During the confrontation Velozo picked up a bottle and went to attack Lo, which is when Lo pinned Velozo down to deter any other attacks.

As soon as the pair was separated, Velozo pulled out his firearm and fired a round into Lo’s forehead. John Gooden UFC Commentator wrote, “ Saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Leandro Lo. One of the greatest Joy-Jitsu players ever.”
