A major cast member from the 2021 Disney+ series Loki has confirmed that she will also appear in Marvel Studios' upcoming film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
This addition adds to the already impressive lineup of characters set to grace the big screen, with almost a dozen familiar names from previous movies. Some characters will be played by multiple actors, such as Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Noah Raskin teaming up to portray Rocket Raccoon in both flashbacks and the current storyline.
Furthermore, Linda Cardellini, who starred in Hawkeye, will rejoin writer/director James Gunn in her second MCU role as Lylla the Otter, and this is just the beginning of the star-studded cast set to appear in the third installment.
Guardians 3 Features Fan-Favorite Loki Star
When asked why she wanted to be at the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 premiere, Strong revealed that she's in the movie, but teased that she'd have to prune fans if she revealed the specific role she plays:
Marvel: "Why did you want to be here at the 'Guardians' premiere tonight?"
Strong: "Well, I might be in it... It's not Miss Minutes. I can't say who it is, or... I could, but then I'd have to prune you... I'm going to turn back time with Miss Minutes."
Strong, who voices Miss Minutes in Loki, looked back to her longstanding relationship with director/writer James Gunn, with whom she worked on a video game many years ago along with fellow co-star Michael Rosenbaum
"I've known James for a very long time. We did a video game together many, many years ago called Lollipop Chainsaw. Actually, Michael Rosenbaum was in it, too... I have a lot of great memories of [Gunn], so it was wonderful to see James in the studio again when I came into do my thing, and then just to see him again."
Strong now becomes the third star in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to play multiple roles in the MCU, joining Sean Gunn (Kraglin/Young Rocket) and Linda Cardellini (Laura Barton/Lylla the Otter) with that distinction.
Tara Strong, an esteemed voice actress with over 600 credits spanning 35 years, is no stranger to major pop culture franchises, having lent her voice to Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and DC projects. It comes as no surprise, then, that she has been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. While fans are eager to learn who she will be playing, the more pressing question is whether her role will be a one-time occurrence or if she will become a recurring character in the MCU.
Fortunately for fans, Strong's involvement in the MCU is not limited to Guardians of the Galaxy 3. She has already been confirmed to reprise her role as Miss Minutes in the second season of Loki alongside Tom Hiddleston and the rest of the cast. Moreover, rumors suggest that she may return as Miss Minutes in Deadpool 3, which is slated for release in 2024 and may also feature Owen Wilson's Mobius.
As the release of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 draws nearer, Strong's role is sure to be a hot topic of discussion among fans eager to see how this beloved voice actress will bring her talent to the Marvel universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will debut in theaters everywhere on Friday, May 5.
